NCARC Membership Meeting November 14, 2024.
At Strongsville Library, Strongsville, Ohio.
Meeting opened by Vice President Tom K8DMM at 19:26.
There were 7 members in attendance at the Library: Tom K8DMM, Paul WB8CYI,
Rob WB2BTI, Charlene SWL, Joe N8QXC, Fred WB8UDA, and Fred N8AHS.
There were 2 Guests: Dan SWL, and Andy KF8CNF.
There were 6 members in attendance on Zoom: Rick K8SCI, Dan KB8A,
Mary Lou K8MLS, Steve W8IZ, Tom WD8EFF, and Heidi WD8EFK.

A motion to approve the minutes of October 17, 2024 as published was made
by Fred WB8UDA and second by Fred N8AHS. Motion passed.
Treasurers report, Dan KB8A: Money in the bank, bills are paid. The current
roster, and treasurers report were emailed to the membership. A motion to
approve the report was made by Tom WD8EFF, and second by Fred WB8UDA.
Motion passed.
Public Service: None.
Nets, Fred N8AHS: We need 3 more net controllers and a News-Line operator.
Technical, Rick K8SCI: Still haven’t been able to get the ARRL to correct the
Club’s 145.29, 224.76 and 443.15 repeater call signs in the Repeater Directory.
They are still showing K8SCI instead of the Club’s Callsign of N8NC.
Fred N8AHS: The change made to the 224.76 repeater by Tom K8DMM to correct
“no audio with tone” has corrected the problem, as tested by Fred N8AHS.
The repeater antennae and feed need to be checked, as there is still degraded
RF output.
Website, Rick K8SCI: If anyone sees any errors, please let Rick know.
Sunshine: Norb N8KJT’s wife Bobbie is ill at home. Please keep her in your
thoughts and prayers.
Old Business: There is no further news regarding a date to assist Ken W8SRF
with his antenna installation.
Rick K8SCI received an email from Dennis W8DFK requesting assistance
with his antenna.
New Business, Fred N8AHS: Winter Field Day will be held on Saturday
January 25th and Sunday January 26th 2025. For more information contact
the Lorain County ARA.
The Club Field Day next year will be on Saturday June 28th and Sunday
June 29th 2025 with camping available Friday night on the 27th.
Tom K8DMM: The Silvercreek ARA (w8wky.org) has asked the club members
to review and support a proposal to reform Field Day rules. Tom K8DMM will
be sending an email to members with information on the proposal. Please
review it and be prepared to discuss pros and cons.

President: Wayne NC8F was nominated by Steve W8IZ.
Vice President: Tom K8DMM was nominated by Steve W8IZ.
Treasurer: Dan KB8A was nominated by Steve W8IZ.
Secretary: Rob WB2BTI was nominated by Joe N8QXC.
Trustees: For terms through 2027 -
Fred WB8UDA was nominated by Rick K8SCI,
Joe N8QXC was nominated by Steve W8IZ,
Ton W8WIN was nominated by Steve W8IZ,
Paul WB8CYI was nominated by Joe N8QXC for open position.
A motion to close nominations was made by Fred WB8UDA and second by
Joe N8QXC. The motion passed.
A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Tom WD8EFF and second
by Joe N8QXC.
The meeting was adjourned at 20:11.

Meeting opened by President Wayne NC8F at 19:00.
There were 6 members in attendance at the Library: Wayne NC8F, Rob WB2BTI,
Charlene SWL, Tom K8DMM, Fred WB8UDA, and Joe N8QXC
There were 6 members in attendance on Zoom: Dan KB8A, Mary Lou K8MLS,
Tom WB8EFF, Heidi WB8EFK, Rick K8SCI, and Fred N8AHS.
There was no Trustee business to discuss.
A motion to close the meeting was made by Rick K8SCI, and second by
Joe N8QXC. Meeting adjourned at 19:01.

There were 7 members in attendance at the Library: Wayne NC8F, Rob WB2BTI,
Charlene SWL, Tom K8DMM, Fred WB8UDA, Joe N8QXC, and Paul WB8CYI.
There were 6 members in attendance on Zoom: Dan KB8A, Mary Lou K8MLS,
Tom WB8EFF, Heidi WB8EFK, Rick K8SCI, and Fred N8AHS.
A motion to approve the minutes of September 19, 2024 as published was
made by Fred WB8UDA, and second by Joe N8QXC. Motion passed.
Treasurers report, Dan KB8A: Money in the bank, bills are paid. A report was
emailed to members. The proceeds from selling equipment at the Cleveland
Hamfest on September 22, 2024 were included in the report.
A motion to accept the treasurers report as published was made by
Tom WD8EFF, and second by Rick K8SCI. Motion passed.
Membership: None.
Nets, Fred N8AHS: Three more operators for Net Control are needed for the Sunday INFO Net, and another for airing the News Line Report. Wayne NC8F
will help out, but more volunteers are needed.
Public Service, Wayne NC8F: There are opportunities to volunteer for various
events in Cuyahoga County. If interested contact Wayne, or go to N8ESG.org
to sign up for events that are listed on that site.
Programs, Tom K8DMM: There is nothing scheduled at this time. If you have
any ideas for a program, contact Tom.
Technical, Rick K8SCI: The 145.29 repeater’s audio is still good since replacing
the molded RCA plug with a soldered plug. There has been no further reports
of a problem with the 224.76 repeater, and Joe N8QXC has indicated he had
no problem using the repeater.
Web Site, Rick K8SCI: As always, if you see any problems/errors on the website,
please let Rick know about it.
Old Business, Joe N8QXC: Ken W8SRF will need help mounting his antennas, as
well as running coax. He will be contacted to determine when the installation
will take place.
New Business: A discussion was had regarding the disposition of equipment that
was not sold at the Hamfest. Should an attempt to sell it at a future hamfest be
made? Should some be given away? Outcome to be determined at a future date.
Fred N8AHS: The ARRL directory still has the incorrect call sign for the Club
repeaters. Rick K8SCI is still working on getting it corrected.
Dan KB8A: Nominations for Club officers will be made at the next meeting,
November 14, 2024 at 19:00 at the Strongsville Library, Strongsville, Ohio.
A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Joe N8QXC and second by
Tom WB8EFF. Motion passed, meeting adjourned at 19:49.
