A good time was had by all.

President Wayne NC8F: As a quorum is in attendance, Terri KF8EZS has
volunteered to accept the nomination for Club Secretary, thus completing the
2026 Club Officers.

A motion to accept for Secretary of NCARC Terri KF8EZS was made by Rick
K8SCI, and second by Norb N8KJT. The motion was approved unanimously.

NCARC MEMBERSHIP MEETING - MAY 21, 2026
Strongsville Branch, Cuyahoga County Library
Open: 7:00 P.M.

Present at the Strongsville Library:
Rob WB2BTI, Charlene SWL, Dale KL7V, Dave N8QAS, Scott N8OND,
Fred WB8UDA, Fred N8AHS, John KF8GNB, Paul WB8CYI and Larry NB8Z.
Present via Zoom:
Steve W8IZ, Tom K8DMM, Rick K8SCI, Harry KE8TPN and Don KE8HTS.

Approval of Minutes:
Motion: Charlene SWL. Second: Dave N8QAS. Motion passed.

Treasurer's Report: Sent via e-mail by Dan KB8A. All present received
their copy of the May 2026 report.

Field Day 2026:  A $300 motion was made for provision of the 2026
Field Day food for which Norb N8KJT once again has has gladly
accepted the volunteer request to provide:
Motion: Charlene SWL. Second: Fred WB8UDA. Motion passed.

Next Field Day '26 motion: $500 for computer upgrades:
Motion: Rob WB2BTI. Second: Fred WB8UDA.  Motion passed.

Field Day '26 timetable:
Setup: Friday 6/26: antenna setup.
Saturday 6/27: completion of setup in the morning and operations to
start at 2:00 P.M.  We will again use the call sign N8NC and be a 5 AB
station.

Dave N8QAS has again put us on the ARRL Field Day locator website.
And Dave is also providing media coverage to the Medina County
Gazette and Elyria Chronicle Telegram.)

Operations will conclude at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday 6/28.  Safety officer
will be Fred N8AHS.  Other notes: digital modes to be used along with
DC to DC converters.  Plus new antennas for 20 m and 40 m.  Special
Thanks to Fred WB8UDA for buying 11" inch by 17" ARRL FCC Amateur
Radio Band Plans at the 2026 Hamvention.

Sunshine: Nothing new for May 2026.

Technical: Nothing new for May 2026. 

Fundraising: Nothing new for May 2026. Thanks again to Fred WB8UDA
and VFW Post 6676 for their past contributions. 

Old Business: Invitations to be sent out via US Mail to the Cub Scouts
as a follow-up to the Cub Scout presentation for Field Day 2026. 

New Business: the Thursday 6/18/26 NCARC meeting will be held as a
Zoom meeting only due to the lack of Strongsville Library availability.

TREASURER’S REPORT:   Sent by DAN KB8A to all via e-mail.

FIELD DAY 2026:   Summary as follows:
                                          239 contacts. All SSB. Bands used were 15m, 20m,40m, and 80m.
                                          10 participants.    More operators are needed.
                                          100% emergency power was used.
                                           Need more publicity.   
                                           Need to copy the W1AW message from the ARRL.

TWO METER NET:   New NEWSLINE volunteers are needed.
                                              New Net Control Operators are also needed.

PROGRAM:   None for July 2026

EDUCATION:   Nothing new for July 2026.

TECHNICAL:   The 224.76 MHz repeater is back on the air. Special thanks to
                                 NORB N8KJT for his work in this regard.

SUNSHINE:   Nothing new for July 2026

FUNDRAISING:   Thank you letter to HAL VERRELL KI7TBO for his donation of
                                        an HT to NCARC.

OLD BUSINESS:    Club dues are due for July 2026 to July 2027. 
                                         Send payments to DAN KB8A.

                                       Antenna work to be done for DENNIS W8DFK. Antenna has
                                       already been approved.

NEW BUSINESS:    Updated replacement costs need to be taken into account
                                           prior to the September 2026 insurance renewal.
