Trustees Meeting Minutes:
The September 2021 meetings were held at the Strongsville Library and also
Meeting opened by NCARC Vice President Tom K8DMM at 1844 hours.
The following members were present: Tom K8DMM, Fred WB8UDA, Bobbie
SWL, Norbert N8KJT, Joe N8QXC, Paul WB8CYI at the Strongsville
Library. Dan KB8A, Mary Lou K8MLS, Tom WD8EFF, Heidi WD8EFK,
Tom WB8LCD, Cory W3JL (@1900) on Zoom video.
There were six (6) members present at the library. There were five (5)
members and two (2) guests on Zoom video for a total of thirteen (13) people.
Approval of minutes: Rick K8SCI made a motion to approve the July 2021
minutes. Norb N8KJT seconded. Motion passed. Rick K8SCI made a motion
to approve the August 2021 minutes. Fred WB8UDA seconded. Motion passed.
Treasures report: Dan KB8A reported that the VFW Post 6676 made a
donation to the club which could be to by new computers. Also the club has
money in the bank and the bills are paid.
Fundraising: Fred WB8UDA said that the VFW Post 6676 approved a very
generous donation to the club which was mentioned in the treasurer’s report.
The officers and members thanked Fred WB8UDA for his continuing efforts
Membership: Dan KB8A said membership roster is up to date.
Program: Tom K8DMM said that there will be a program after the meeting,
about 1930 hours. The Program will be presented by Cory W3JL of DX
Engineering on NVIS antennas.
Website: Rick K8SCI said website up to date.
Two meter net: More people are needed to be net control and also help is
needed to broadcast the News Line report. Any volunteers should contact
Mary Lou K8MLS.
Education: Tom K8DMM mentioned that it seems like there is no interest in
loaning of equipment to the new members and we should table the idea.
Rick K8SCI said he would like information about the loaning to put on the
website and Facebook.
Technical: Tom K8DMM said that the 440 and 220 repeaters are up and
running. He also said that for some reason the 440 repeater is down about
3db. Also helpers will be needed to check out the antenna system and feed
lines to see if that’s why the 440 repeater is low. The 220 squelch was reset.
Field Day: Tom K8DMM said that the Field Day scores have been received by
Old Business: Tom K8DMM said that only one purchase of the logging
software is needed for the club. The cost for one package with multiple
programs on CD will be $49.00.
New Business: Fred WB8UDA suggested that the club find out about the
availability of the restaurant for the Christmas dinner meeting. Rick K8SCI
asked if the club has a table at the Cleveland Ham Fest, should we promote
the CQ, CQ, CQ program. A discussion followed which included, how long
should the CQ, CQ, CQ program last, till the end of the year, or see how many
new members renew? Rick made a motion to end the CQ, CQ, CQ offer at the
end of September. Dan KB8A seconded. Motion passed 7 to 1. Dan KB8A said
he would send out by email a full column roster. Tom K8DMM said he would
send an email about the Cleveland Ham Fest and asking for volunteers to
operate the table.
Tom K8DMM called for adjournment. Rick K8SCI made a motion. Joe
N8QXC seconded. Motion passed.
The meeting closed at 1931 hours.
